State Membership Rally

Coral Springs, Florida - January 17, 2012. St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church was the setting for the first of a series of Multi-District Meetings to “Spread the Word” about growing our membership. Lead by IPSD Doug Murray and Dannie Harris, PSD, Supreme Membership and Program Consultant, State Program Directors and District Deputies shared methods and discussed programs intended to grow and sustain membership. A resonant key in each speaker’s presentation was family involvement in council activities including recruitment. With family participation being a key to the order’s growth the crowd of Council Officers and members from Palm Beach and Broward Counties were urged to present the Orders family orientation when holding membership drives and use each project and program to involve all council members and their families. State Membership Director Tony Lamkin reported on the status of our State Membership goal and outlined strategies for Councils and Districts to use in meeting and surpassing the goals set. State Charities Director Don Vettorel, addressed two specific beneficiaries of Florida K of C Charities, and the progress being made to fund the programs; the two projects he spoke to served as a good example of the program as a whole and pointed to the need for each Council and Member to recall the first Principle of the Order, Charity. The group heard from Field Agents, Program Chairmen, and Program Coordinators about upcoming programs of special interest, specifically the Run for Life and other Pro-Life events in the SE Florida area. The Broward and Palm Beach membership “Rally” is the first of a series of gatherings of Officers and Members being held at various locations state wide to “Build the Body of Christ” and “Spread the Word”. Events are scheduled for Miami, Dunedin, Casselberry and Stuart.
